The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is a Zionist lobby group that has a stated priority of “strengthening the Canada-Israel Friendship.” It has historically aimed to do so in several ways, including lobbying MPs and taking them on fully paid trips to Israel.

I’ve published several articles on CIJA’s activities since 2022, including the 10 MPs most lobbied by CIJA at the time, a breakdown of MPs CIJA has taken to Israel and a list of MPs running in the 2025 election that CIJA had lobbied and/or taken to Israel.

This addition to the series looks at the MPs (and/or their staff ) who CIJA has lobbied since April 29, 2025, the day after the last election.

I found that CIJA lobbied at least 63 MPs (20 per cent) between April 29 and December 17 of 2025.

There are typically delays between when a lobby meeting occurs and when it’s actually registered. For example, the latest recorded meeting occurred on Dec. 17, 2025, but was only posted to the registry on Jan. 15, 2026. As such, it’s almost certain the 63 MPs figure is an undercount, both for the date range mentioned and until the date this article was published

I also found that CIJA lobbied MPs on 98 occasions across 48 meetings throughout this period, as they often lobby multiple MPs at once and certain MPs on multiple occasions.

Of the 63 MPs: 36 (57 per cent) are Conservatives, 23 (37 per cent) are Liberals and four (6 per cent) are Bloc Québécois.

About 25 per cent of all Conservative MPs have been lobbied by CIJA thus far, compared to 18 per cent of all Bloc MPs and 14 per cent of Liberal MPs.

I found that seven MPs were lobbied at least three times:

A particularly notable lobby session took place on Oct. 21, 2025, and included 37 MPs, one senator, and the deputy chief of staff of the Prime Minister’s Office. The registry notes that the following were discussed:

  • “Equip police departments to counter hate crimes and support targeted communities by providing additional resources to bolster existing police hate crime and community liaison units. Where such units do not exist, funding should be provided to establish them”
  • “Establish a security rebate program for places of worship, schools and community centres. Institutions that pay for security personnel (such as guards from licensed companies or paid duty police officers) could submit those receipts with their annual filing to Canada Revenue Agency and be reimbursed for a portion of the total cost”
  • “Hate speech and internet-based hate: For Canada to adopt policies – either/and through legislation or policies adjustments that will provide measurable standards for internet-based dissemination of hate speech, including explicit provisions within the Crimical [sic] Code and/or the Human Rights Act.”

The “subject matter” of each session is recorded on the lobbyist registry. The most-common subjects of the meetings were “national security/security” (74 per cent of all meetings) and “justice and law enforcement” (67 per cent of all meetings).

“Taxation and finance” was another common subject (24 per cent of all meetings), and focused on the aforementioned “security rebate program.”

“Immigration” was also discussed in 24 per cent of meetings. In April 2024, CIJA stated that it was “deeply troubled by the Canadian government’s recent decision to grant visas to 5,000 residents of Gaza who are related to Canadian citizens or permanent residents,” claiming that it could threaten the “safety and security” of Canadians, particularly Jewish ones.

As of August 2025, just 860 Gazans had made it to Canada. In September 2025, the CBC reported that more than 300,000 Ukrainians had come to Canada since 2022.

Here is a list of MPs CIJA lobbied between April 29 and December 17 of 2025, in alphabetical order. The table is available in higher resolution, and as a searchable list.
