The Maple has created a database of provincial representatives invested in real estate.
Provincial representatives in all provinces are required to complete disclosure reports containing, in part, property they own, sources of income and investments. These reports are made available to the public. The territories do not make this information public.
We went through hundreds of these reports and identified which political representatives are landlords. We then published an article for each of the 10 provinces containing the results of our investigation. They are linked below.
- Alberta
- British Columbia
- Manitoba
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Nova Scotia
- Ontario
- Prince Edward Island
- Quebec
- Saskatchewan
Please read the dedicated article of any province you’re interested in. You can also check out our searchable database.

When sharing anything from this database, please do link back to it and give credit to Davide Mastracci at The Maple.
In March 2021, The Maple became the first publication to make the housing investments of elected officials across the country more accessible to the public. We’ve been examining and analyzing the data on an annual basis since then, and publishing it for all to see, with no paywalls.
As a 100 per cent reader-funded publication, this has only been possible due to readers like you. If you’d like to see this project continue, consider becoming a member and/or making a one-time donation. As a non-profit, every dollar you send will be invested into our journalism.
